BAE Systems and Marshall Aerospace Select LES Software

Logistic Engineering Services (LES) has secured an initial order from the BAE Systems LHD Project to purchase a number of licences of eMRD and eLORA to support the development of the LHD LSAR to meet Australian requirements.

Marshall Aerospace recently purchased licences of eMRD to reduce the effort required for the day to day engineering management of the C-130 fleets.

These purchases build on initial sales and leasing to RLM, Qantas Defence Services, Tenix Defence and Australian Aerospace and supports the growing interest in the effectiveness of these specialist applications.

eMRD is a DEF(AUST)5692 compliant database primarily designed to facilitate the development of the LSAR LCN structure and the conduct of maintenance requirements determination, FMEA, RCM and task analysis that supports the development of valid Technical Maintenance Plans (TMP) and Planned Servicing Schedules (PSS). The easy to use windows interface and single screen visibility provides the analyst with the ability to utilise the application’s intuitive functionality to reduce errors and provide significant efficiency gains.

eLORA is a MIL STD 1390D compliant application that facilitates the development of economic and non-economic Level of Repair Analysis rationale to support maintenance and sparing decisions.

The use of eMRD and eLORA has proven to significantly reduce resource requirements whilst minimising human induced errors.

Logistic Engineering Services Wins Contract For Delivery Of Maintenance Requirements Determination (MRD) Training

Following closely on the success of winning the Engineering Maintenance Systems training contract Logistic Engineering Services Pty Ltd (LES) has been awarded a contract by the Directorate General Technical Airworthiness (DGTA) to provide training delivery services for Maintenance Requirements Determination (MRD). MRD is closely aligned to the Maintenance Steering Group 3 (MSG-3) RCM methodology and is the business process that Defence uses to produce the Technical Maintenance Plan (TMP) and Planned Servicing Schedule (PSS) for Defence aviation systems.

The two week MRD Practitioner Course is to be delivered under a 2 year contract and will provide Defence and contractor staff with the skills and knowledge to manage the day to day maintenance decisions associated with the cost effective through life support of aviation systems. Once again the contract award recognises the knowledge and experience of LES in the development and delivery of training and maintenance engineering to meet ADF requirements.
